The Highs & Lows of Preppy Style

Preppy isn't a style I think I pull off too well. I LOVE it, yes, but I just don't know if I look good in that style! Today's preppy outfit is one I can definitely handle, though. No crazy layering, just a comfy striped sweater and a structured skirt. I don't know why it took me so long to get myself a J. Crew Factory pencil skirt. They are seriously such amazing quality!!

I love today's look because I mixed and matched expensive (for me) pieces with bargain pieces. This sweater was on sale at Aeropostale. The skirt I got for a good price at J. Crew Factory, but it's a place I don't shop at too often (I'm cheap! ahh!). The socks are from Target, and the booties are Sam Edelman, which again is a brand I don't shop often, but I had a gift card that covered the cost of theses booties and I LOVE them (if you can't tell... I've worn them quite often on the blog haha!). Investing in quality pieces that will last you a long time is something I've been learning. While I do try to shop for affordable things, I believe once in a while it's important to put quality over quantity.

You are rockin' this preppy look! I'm with you on the price thing...people talk like under $100 is cheap but I'm extra cheap so I consider under $30 to be a good price :)
