Ya Win Some, Ya Lose Some.

^^this^^ is a phrase that I have had to say to myself this semester. It's basically my "everything will be alright/Hakuna Matata/Nobody is perfect/Keep holdin on" quote I need to use to make myself feel better. I'm sure you girls can relate-- I can be a bit of a perfectionist at times. And as we all know, it never works out if we have that as our standard, haha! So it's okay if sometimes things fall short, because for everything that falls short... something awesome will happen!

YA WIN SOME:
-Did super well on my sewing class test!! Woot woot! All the content stuff is right up my alley. Now as for the execution... hm......
-I was SO stressed about my family finance test that was earlier this week. And THANK YOU to those who left encouraging words! I basically had to re-teach myself all about insurance (SO detailed!) and taxes (intense), but I was able to get a decent grade (above class average). Such a relief!
-Our next sewing project is a shirt. And my fabric is ahhh-dorable.

YA LOSE SOME:
-My infant development class has been a challenge for me... It can be a bit of a snoozer at times! And my test was kinda hard. Definitely fell below average, oops!
-We have completed our first two projects in sewing-- pajama pants and a skirt. Both of which are TOO TIGHT ON MY HIPS AND BUM!!! I don't know how I mis-measured twice!!! So sad, because I put a lot of time, effort, blood (I accidentally seam-ripped my finger), and sweat (the sewing labs get HOT!). But I tell myself HEY! I learned a lot! Next time I can make it better.
-This 18 year old girl told me that I have a "baby face". Just what I always love to hear...
-WINDY and DARK days that ruin my photo's!!! OH WELL!

ya win some, ya lose some.

Oh, and you know what's funny? This skirt I'm wearing is something I made a couple years ago for my Halloween costume. Sure, I didn't follow a pattern and it's way simple and there's no zipper or kickpleat or pockets... BUT it fits way better than my sewing class skirt. I'll take it.

You're skirt is so cute! I hope you share some of your projects with us. I took a sewing class in high school and had to make all those things. I also made my prom dress! Now, I'm in college and I'm going to a Mardi Gras ball in February and am trying to make another dress for that because my prom dress doesn't fit me anymore. Can you say Freshman Fifteen?! Good luck with your classes!
