Hydrafacial Experience - Dr. Jewell, MD
Eugene, OR

This post is sponsored by Dr. Mark Jewell. All opinions are my own.

In about two and a half months, I'll be 25. In my heart I still feel like I'm 20 years old, but I can tell that physically I'm definitely a bit older than how I feel! On my 22nd birthday I found my first white hair, I've noticed a few small wrinkles making their way on my face, I can't eat as much as I used to while maintaining my weight... It's just the sad truth, you know?

I've been more and more interested in ways that I can help myself age gracefully. I know that my future self will appreciate it! One thing that definitely freaks me out about aging is getting wrinkles. It's not so much that I'm scared of getting wrinkles when I'm older, I just want to put it off as long as possible ;) I had never heard of the HydraFacial, so I was excited to get to try it out at Dr. Mark Jewell's office!

I went to the beautiful The Ten Coburg building in Eugene, Oregon where Dr. Jewell's office is located. It's a nice building, and Dr. Jewell's office had a relaxing and peaceful aura about it.
Dr. Jewell is an aesthetic plastic surgeon in the Eugene, Oregon area where he runs his business of plastic surgery procedures as well as non invasive services.
I met with Sherry at Dr. Jewell's office for a HydraFacial. She's been an aesthetician for about nine years now, and was SO sweet and knowledgeable. She sat me down and explained to me the process of a HydraFacial, the benefits of caring extra for your skin, and how to age gracefully.
It felt so nice to be able to lay down in Sherry's chair and have her talk me through the steps of what she was doing. It was relaxing and I liked knowing what was going on as it was happening. She wrapped up my face with a warm towel to begin, then she whipped out her equipment and started the HydraFacial process.
Hydrafacials detoxify, rejuvenate, and protect your skin. It combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection. The treatment is soothing, moisturizing, non-invasive, and results in clear skin. There's no down time, so Sherry was telling me how she has clients who come in during their lunch break for a HydraFacial!
Your skin is the largest organ of your body. It's the protective layer that gets exposed to pollution and the sun which damages vital skin cells like collagen and elastin, which keep you looking fresh and young. The HydraFacial utilizes powerful antioxidants to revitalize and protect your skin.
The process is quite fast - the whole thing probably took about half an hour. It starts with cleansing and exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and reveal healthy new skin. Step two is an acid peel - it helps to loosen dirt and debris from your pores without irritation. Next are extractions. It's a painless, automated extraction that uses vortex suction to clean out pores. Lastly, now that your face is CLEAN, it's all about hydration to nourish and protect your beautiful face!
Watch below for a better explanation, hehe

Sherry was careful to not mess up my eye makeup, which I appreciated very much ;) After my HydraFacial, my face just felt SO supple and moisturized.
Sherry also showed me what she pulled up from my face - AHH. It was in a tube and I could see my dead skin/dirt that she had pulled off my face. It wasn't too gross, because I do try to keep good care of my skin, but it was still crazy to see it first hand.

Thank you to Dr. Jewell and his team for having me at their gorgeous office! I would recommend a HydraFacial to anyone and everyone (Sherry told me she has several male clients as well!). I was so happy to "reset" the moisture in my face, and I could feel the difference even days after. I definitely want to go back after the winter months to revive my skin for spring!
