Modern + Fresh: Retro Beauty Makeup Look
with Rimmel London

I'll come out and say it-- I am a girly girl. I love pink, I love clothes, I love jewelry, I love doing my nails, and I LOVE makeup! Let me loose anywhere near a makeup counter, and you've lost me. I could spend hours looking at colors, brands, reading reviews, the whole she bang. I will see a makeup commercial on television, and instantly want to try that product. I'm no "makeup expert" by any means, but I do love to create makeup looks that are different from my everyday routine.

In honor of Rimmel London's new Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara and Stay Matte foundation, I wanted to create a retro makeup look for myself. I don't like wearing a ton of makeup on my face, so I decided to go with a "Modern + Fresh" retro feel-- a simple yet fun take on a classic look. You can achieve this look with four amazing products from Rimmel!
All of these products can be found at your local Walmart. Be sure to read to the end to enter a fun sweepstakes from Rimmel!
Let's start!
Start with a clean, washed face. I like to use moisturizer then a primer to prep my face for makeup!
Next, apply a dollop of Rimmel London's Stay Matte foundation on your face. Spread evenly. I love this stuff because it really did make my face matte! It's a new lightweight liquid mousse texture. A little bit goes a long way! Above you can see some shine on my forehead and chin, but it was gone after the foundation application! Shine has met its matte! ;) I'm all about drugstore foundation, and this one has been amazing.
Next, coat your lashes with Rimmel London's Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara. I like my lashes thick (to enhance my tiny Asian eyes), so I usually end up swiping 3-4 coats of mascara, but Scandaleyes is thick, so it's easy to layer on the lashes! I was good with two coats. This is seriously the best cheap mascara! I have searched high and low for a good drugstore mascara, and I think I am officially done with my search.. :)
The next step? Eyeliner! Winged eyeliner is the perfect way to amp up the retro with makeup. I used Glam'Eyes by Rimmel London. It is a liquid eyeliner that has such precision, it's a winner. You can line your top lids as well, but since I wanted a more "fresh" look, I just applied the wings on the outer sides of my eyes.
The final touch? Lipstick, of course! To keep with the modern and fresh look, I chose a fun, light pink lip color. Rimmel London's Moisture Renew Lipstick in Pink Star creates a pretty shade on your lips that really complements a modern retro feel that ties together the whole look.
And there you have it! A modern and fresh take on the classic retro look. To see a quick video tutorial, check out my Instagram post HERE :)

I would love just an easy every day look, where I still feel pretty. With four kids, it makes it kind of hard. :)

I love going all natural, but I probably would use it for my wedding!
