Argggghhh! Happy Halloween,Matey's!

Ahoyyyy!
Happy Halloween to everyone!
Yesssssss,I dressed up as a PIRATE for all the Halloween festivities I attended, woo hoo!!

<><>
Blingin' eyepatch: Bedazzled by my roommate Katieeee.
Shirt: Target
Necklace: Forever21.
Jewelry: Roommate's,Claire's,American Eagle,etc.
Sash: Made by me.
Skirt: Made by me.
Booties: Target
(See the Kool-Aid man in the back??? Yeah,he MADE HIS OWN costume. haha)
I seriously had SO much fun dressing up as lil Pirate Rachy this year!
I was thinking about cutting my skirt in a zig-zag fashion along the bottom, but well...
I wanted to be able to wear it. Forever.
It was honestly the easiest thing to make. And it's so darned cute. I can't wait to pair it with my other clothes! SO so so easy!! I've been on a sewing high! haha.
We had a ward party at a barn, owned by one of our leaders.
It was really fun.
There was a costume contest for "Best Dressed Guy/Girl". "Funniest Guy/Girl". And "Manliest/Prettiest Guy/Girl."
Welllllll.........
I happened to win Best Dressed. Haha! I was NOT expecting that at all, since there were SO many creative costumes.
At the entrance of the party, our leaders had us fill out names and put them in bowls for a drawing.
A guys bowl,and a girls bowl.
Halfway through the party, they announced a GAME... and that they'd draw names for the people who got to participate..
4 Guys. 4 Girls.
Who happens to get picked??
Me. Of course.
Objective of the game?
We get paired off. We take our shoes off. We stand on ice blocks, facing each other.
We have to keep an orange between our mouths, and see who can stay on the ice the longest. BRRRRRRRR.
(this game has "Young Single Adult Ward" written alllll over it....)
Let me tell you...
it was awkward.
I was so so so embarrassed,my friends told me that my face was super red.
My partner was a guy who I had never talked to before. I thought I was going to fall over.
My feet were freezing. Part way through, they made us stand on one foot.
BUT....
My partner and I won.
Our prize was a giftcard to In-N-Out
(he better not go spend it without me!)
It was a great time.
Can't believe 2011 is entering the month of NOVEMBER soon!
Where does time go,really!?
I can't wait to see everyone else's Halloween stories!

Changes...

I honestly never thought blogging could take such a large part of my life.
It's helped me to be...

Inspired.
Creative.
Attentive.
Careful.
Appreciative.
& so much more.

I've learned lots through the past 4 months of being a part of the blogging world.
I've met incredible people.
I've been exposed to a whole new mindset.
I've learned more about my own self.

I love it.
I love it.
I love it.

Thank you so much for all of your kind words.
Thoughts.
Comments.
Prayers.
Support.
Friendship.

I can truly say that it has been an amazing journey,
and that it's helped me to grow so much.
A few things will change,
I hope everyone likes it.

Millions of thank-you's to my genius, patient, beautiful, and sweet friend Natalie for helping me work this magic. I love you so much,Nat Cat.

Mixing Colors...

Sick of seeing this?!

Yeahhh,me tooooo.
CHANGE OF SCENERY:

I can't even tell you how embarrassed I was, asking my roommate to take pictures of me...
I would cringe when people would walk by...
Hope I get used to it,because I MUCH prefer outside than inside..............!

Remember that shirt and bow from this post?
Well, here's that dress that the sash goes to. Hehe.

Flower: Local Farmer's Market.
Necklace: Forever21.
Shirt: The Children's Place,thrifted! haha!
Dress: Hand-me-down from my aunty. She got it on eBay,but it's from Target [I wonder how many owners this dress has had...]
Tights: Ross
Bootie wedges: Target.

I got a lot of compliments on these shoes the last time I wore them.
I just got them from Target, online!
HERE is the link if you are interested (:
Similar ones from Threadsence here, although supply is limited.

I really loved wearing the different colors in this outfit!
It makes it so much fun!

I can't wait to post some Halloween-party pics. I just gotta get them from other people.
HAHA!
Any fun plans for the Halloweekend?

Being a Little Seamstress.

Hello,friends!
How goes it?! (:
I am LOVING this fall weather! It's so beautiful!
However,I am pretty sad to see the cold coming right around the corner.

I can't believe October is coming to a close. Pretty crazy stuff eh?
So.
One of my roommates is planning on sewing her whole Halloween costume!!!! {Snow White}.
She's currently borrowing a friend's sewing machine.
Let me just say...
I have definitely been taking advantage of that!

See that cute lil number I'm wearing?
I purchased it at Target.
I still remember wearing it to the first day of school sophomore year.
.................
Well guess what. I'm a sophomore in college now....

So I decided to mix it up a lil bit.

Snipped the straps off.
Took in extra fabric off the bust.
Made a new lil skirt.

And yes. It has pockets.
And yes. I made a headband out of the straps.
And yes. I feel like a lil hippie.

Shirt: Forever21.
Belt: Thrifted
Shirt,now a skirt/headband: Target
Tights: Walmart
Shoes: Target.

Lesson learned: Don't let unwanted/outdated clothes go to waste!

I completed making my Halloween outfit last night!!
I AM SO EXCITED!
For now... it's a secret! But I'm so proud of myself for sewing part of it!
(not that it was anything complicated).

What are you guys doing/being for Halloween?
I'm definitely dressing up to campus and passing out candy. HA!

Inspired By...

You guys all know Lauren and Maddie, from Awkward Girls...
Right?
If you don't,repent and go check out their blog right now.
They are so dang cute and have the best clothes ever!
I've had the privilege of meeting both of them in real life.
Such sweethearts!
Well a while back,I saw on their blog a dress that Lauren was wearing...
And I wanted to copy it.
And I did.

BUT I added a touch of blue to it.

(hard to tell, but my tights are navy.)

Finally got cute wedges!

Necklace: Forever21.
Shirt: Forever21.
Belt: Thrifted
Watch: Juicy Couture,c/o TeenVogue
Bracelet: Target clearance
Skirt: Japan
Tights: American Apparel clearance
Wedge booties: Target sale.

Sooooo.
This random guy came up to me at church today.
He said...
"I was looking at your shoes, and I just had to come tell you how awesome they are. It works so well with everything. And also, your outfit is just impeccable"
Turns out this guy was a friend of a guy in my ward, haha.
He was dressed stylish himself! Mixed a plaid tie with a striped shirt with a nice jacket.
It made me happy that he came over to me to compliment my outfit.

Recently Target online had a BOGO half off sale,so I got a couple shoes for a great price.
Those^ are one of the two pairs I got,and I love them.
Perfect for fall!

This picture clearly doesn't do it justice, but I love this bracelet! It's super blingy, which I loveee (also,it was super cheap). I call it my "Cougar Spirit Bracelet" because it reminds me of BYU colors. HA.

Also, the weather was BEAUTIFUL this weekend!
I worked at a football game on Saturday, and it was sunny.
I got a slight watch tanline from standing outside for 6 hours...

It was such a wonderful weekend!
I was ACTUALLY social for once...
Dinner with friends,cornmaze...
Worked at football AND volleyball.
Went to a haunted house with our FHE brothers.
Great times at church.

Exactly what I needed after a stressful week!
Hope you guys had a fantastic weekend as well!

Mellow Yellow.

Can I just say....

This is one of my most favorite outfits I have done!?

My roommate borrowed one of my shirts,so she let me borrow this ADORABLE skirt!

And I FINALLY got new shoes! I had to throw out a couple old pairs...

Shirt: Target,discounted
Necklace: Roommate's (Target)
Skirt: Roommate's (WALMART!)
Tights: Target
Booties: Target clearance

Can you tell I just LOVE Target!?

A few mini stories here;

1) This AWESOME skirt is from Walmart. YES. Walmart! I loved wearing it sooo much! (: Thanks to Ashley,my roomie! It's a newer line called Bella Bird. Sarah from The House of Shoes (one of my faves!) had a little post about it here,so go check it out!
2) I've been needing a white collared shirt for sooo long. And I finally got one at Target. I just really like the way their shirts fit on me,haha. I found a little stain on it,so I asked the cashier if I could get a price reduction. She gave me 10% off. Of course,I hooked up with my friend Tide To-Go at home, and that stain came right out. It's always worth asking!
3) These booties were 50% off!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so so so happy!! I seriously have the hardest time finding shoes that fit my little feet. But Target has always has my back. I mean feet. ha. I think 90% of my shoes are from there....

Hellooooooooooooooooo honeyyy.

BOOM shaka laka,I'm in love.

TODAY I SAW SIX LITTLE BAMBI'S RUNNING AROUND ON CAMPUS!!!!!!!!!!
They were SO precious.
I tried to talk to them, but I don't think they listened to me....

Haha!
HOORAYYYY for the weekend!
What am I up to?!
Gonna study all day for a test, then hopefully chill with some of my ladies.
Then working at football AND volleyball tomorrow.
{I work hard for da money.}

What are your plans?

Awkward Library Happenings... And a WINNER!

**Okay guys. FIRST OFF can I just say.... I am SOOOO technically challenged! All I tried to do was change my Blogger background, and somethin got totally screwed up. My blog looks different to me every time I go to my page... It looks different on Chrome,Internet Explorer,AND Firefox! I am SO bugged,it's kind of frustrating!!!! If someone wants to help me out,I'd appreciate it times a million (:**

I know summer is over, but I just wanted to wear my nautical shirt again...

Close-upppp.

Cardi: Old Navy.
Shirt: Forever21.
Belt: Roommate's.
Jeggings: Forever21.
Boots: Soda shoes. Got them at some random store called... 1318? I think... I got them back in April when they were on 50% off clearance from last winter. haha.

MAN.
Some of the awkward things I experience in the library..........

-Walking around with a tampon and pad stuffed up my sleeve. YEP. My friend TOM {Time Of Month} is visiting! I was afraid I'd drop my feminine gear. But I DIDN'T.
-I drink a LOT of water. I'm seriously ALWAYS so thirsty! But drinking lots= going to the toitey lots. Sometimes I wonder what people sitting around me think when I go use the bathroom 2 or 3 times in an hour. Haha. So awkward.
-Seeing 3 girls at one table all asleep with their head on the desk. Te he.
-Seeing girls fast asleep on the couches in the bathroom. I don't know how they can sleep in there...
-When I'm tryin SO HARD to study.......... and random people keep trying to make conversation. I'm not tryin to be rude, but I would like to get a good grade, thank you very much...
-Seeing a couple all cozied together. I hate this. Oh then guess what the girl does?! Takes a drink of water from her bottle, then GLEEKS on her boyfriend. What the weird?!

To be continued....

Alriiiiiiight, and now for the lucky winner of the Sally Hansen nail set..........
(guys! I'm actually so nervous! And excited haha)
Drumroll,please.

TRAPPED! & A Bunch-O-Lil Tidbits.

Pardon my venting.
Oh my gaaashhh.
Being a college student without a car has got to be one of the worst things ever.
I feel like I am TRAPPED within a one mile radius from my apartment!
It's seriously driving me crazy!

See?! SEE! Look what this situation has done to me!
I want to go visit home so badly.
I miss my funny family and I miss having a car and I miss our sewing machine.

I have a few thrifted clothes that I love but I can't wear because I need to fix them.
It sort of makes me sad.
Working on Events Staff has its downsides-
I can't leave for the weekend because I HAVE to work at the sporting games.
Which is fine... Thanksgiving break is just a month away..
I can do it,I can do it....!
I came up with a lil wish list.
I do a lot of "online window shopping".
I thought I'd share.
My birthday is in a month.... hint hint....

Oh,only if I weren't a poor college student who was also saving up for a mission at the same time...

A NICE camera. I'm so sick of my cheap ole digital one.
But until I'm home from my mission,I shall resist.

BEST SEWING MACHINE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took a Fashion Design/Merchandising class my senior year of high school, and we got to use these babies. They are magical. Limited Project Runway edition... I'm drooling...

Cuter than my 10-speed mountain bike I currently ride. HA

Ahhhhh....... Pretty dresses....

Cute over-sized cream colored sweater I can wear with leggins...

SHOESSSSSSSSSS...........
All mine (I feel haha) are falling apart.
I have small feet,so it's really hard to find ones that are cute (not lil girl Hello Kitty ones!) and FIT.

One of my favorite scents.
Anna Sui's Secret Wish.
I secretly wish I could afford it.

Of course,I AM entirely grateful for all that I have.
This is all only wishful thinking (:
We all have those days,right?

And see that way cute flower headband I'm wearin?
Well I got it at a local Farmer's Market.
Went to it with the lovely Gentri.
Read about it here (:
She's so dang cute.
I also got to chill with two of my girl pals,Lex n' Andy.
I'm grateful for my friends!
Okieee thanks for letting me vent my brains out.
Here's to a new week...!

xoxo
